Most people can't fathom the idea of being completely alone.

So in little and sometimes big ways, we placate to the people around us because we want to stay in their good graces.

But if someone knows you're not going anywhere, they often impede on your boundaries and try to get whatever value they can off you.

No hard feelings, it's just how human beings are. We try to get the most out of everything, including our relationships.

Need no one. Be self-reliant and not only will people respect you.

You'll respect yourself.
