UK regulator says it will raise main cap on consumer energy bills. Britons are grappling with soaring food prices as inflation hits 40-year-high of over 10%.
War in Ukraine is generally blamed for European energy crisis. Also electricity prices hit new records in Germany and France. Tensions between Russia and the West over Ukraine have led to reduction in EuropeÂ’s gas supplies. Western countries are seeking ways to replace Russian energy after sanctioning Moscow.
