HOW TO: Become A Wildlife Guide |@EcoTraining TV| FGASA Trails Guide Course
Ever wanted to know how to become a wildlife guide like myself? @EcoTraining TVinvited me to come and check out a couple of their courses and training facilities so I can show you exactly what happens when training to become a wildlife guide.
In this video I take a look at EcoTraining's Selati Camp in the Selati Game Reserve and the FGASA accredited Trails Guide course they offer there.
During the course there were some fabulous animal encounters on foot including Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Giraffe, and even a cheetah sighting!
The course focuses on learning to approach dangerous animals safely and effectively and also rifle handling and safety. The short Wilderness Trails Skills course also makes up part of the Trails Guide Course (Video Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSG9JNiZwFk)
What EcoTraining's Website Says:
28-day Trails Guide course (FGASA-accredited), where the majority of your time will be spent conducting bush walks in big game country.
Your environmental knowledge, situational awareness and environmental appreciation will increase exponentially while on course, whether you are a career guide working towards a qualification or attending for self-satisfaction and learning.
The aim of this course is to develop and practice skills and gain knowledge to attain the FGASA Trails Guide Back-up qualification. At the same time develop and enhance skills and knowledge learnt on the FGASA Field Guide course. Your environmental and situational awareness will increase exponentially.
It is also open to anyone who wants experience of, or opportunities for, walking in a wilderness area and improving personal skills. Skills gained on this course can be used anywhere. The course content is the same for everyone, regardless of existing qualifications.
However, if a FGASA Back-up Trails Guide qualification is what you are after, you will have to attain a full FGASA Field Guide qualification before coming on the course.

About Rob The Ranger Wildlife Videos:
The purpose of the channel is to show what it is like to experience seeing wild animals on an African safari. Nature Documentaries are often highly edited to tell a story, wildlife safaris are not, and the idea here is to show the wildlife sightings the way they were seen. Safari tours in Africa are generally suitable for all ages and this channel can be considered an educational channel about incredible nature, some scenes in the nature videos may be more graphic than people are used to but this is the reality of nature and is what you would see if you were present on such a safari in person. Safaris in Kenya, South Africa, or any other African country are an unrivalled experience for anyone with a passion for nature, wildlife photography, and travel. Hopefully the animal videos on this channel can provide a glimpse into what the nature experience is like and encourage more people to take a wildlife safari one day.
