Panasonic Q GameCube HDMI Connection!?

In this #YouTube #Shorts video, I show you how the Panasonic Q GameCube console can connect to an HDMI port, no mods are required!

One of the most unique video game systems of all time has recently landed in my collection with the Panasonic Q, a Japanese exclusive. Designed as a partnership between Nintendo and Panasonic, the Q took the GameCube, added some amazing style, and the ability to play audio CDs and DVDs. One exciting feature about it is that it did have the digital video output port on the back of it, in addition to composite video, analog audio, and even a Toslink connection.

The digital output opens a number of video output options. Nintendo produced their own, now very expensive, component video cables that plugged into this port. Insurrection industries and Retro-bit both have their own Carby & Prism component video cables that plug into this port, and they also both have HDMI adapters that will plug into this port. Curious to see how it would look, I connected my newly acquired Panasonic Q to my Retro-bit Prism HDMI adapter to see if it would work

I was in the middle of reassembling the Q after replacing the DVD drive rails, a common breakage issue with the Panasonic Q. With the sides still off, I connected power and the Prism HDMI adapter, turned it on, and ejected the disk drive. I dropped in my copy of the Hudson Selection Vol. 4: Takahashi Meijin no Bouken Jima, featuring Adventure Island for the Japanese GameCube. As soon as power was applied, the GameCube's menu came right up. I had very little doubt that this would work, but it is great to see it in action.

Repairing a Panasonic hue is no joke, and I'm still in the process of making final tweaks to mine and the drive rails. Make sure you are subscribed to the channel as we will be posting our repair video in the future.
