Quarrels, war within, and wrong motives. (James 4:1-4)

Wanting what we don't have is kind of common. Don't have to have or be around kids or pets for very long before you notice rather quickly that new shiny will distract very really quickly. Seeing new sparkly suddenly makes the enjoyed toy in the hand an ignored object. This is just how these things tend to go. Those kind of motives are generally selfish. We see, we want, we take. We do the same thing that was done in the garden. Same vocabulary even. We want pleasure and we rarely thing of the cost.

Sex is a big example of this lately. Well nearly always has been, but if you think about it: Get aroused, want sex, go out and get laid. Something that the world calls a simple thing. But if you're part of The Body, we know that the body is not made for sex as food is made for the body. (It's not a bad thing, it's a very good and very important and enjoyable thing) When it's done just to satisfy the animalistic need we miss what psychology is finding more and more: It has an effect on the brain and you carry them with you unless HE sets you free. It's nothing to shake a stick at. It has weight and so often in our world we treat that which has value as worthless and that which is worthless and god. Heartbreaking to see, something only HE can fix.
