DON’T BE AFRAID TO BE SALT AND SHINE!!!

Matthew 5:16 King James Version
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

There's something about these verses of scripture, in that every time I read them, I’m reminded of an important truth, on how we are to be salt, full of spiritual flavor, and spice in this world. That while we are on this planet, we need to shine as brightly and powerfully as we can in this dark world, so that others will see Christ Jesus in us, and will want to know Him too. I think that's a pretty tall order right now, considering how this world is considering those who know Christ as savior, “hateful”, “bigoted”, and as of late here in The United States, “domestic terrorists”. As a result, it makes it very difficult to be God's light in the darkness, but I believe it gives us all the more reason to shine even brighter. I think that's why the questions from this morning's devotional are so incredibly challenging to me, and I'd like to share them with you tonight. Please read these questions very carefully, and I pray that God will challenge you through them too.

In what ways can you shine your light for Jesus today?

Right now guys, what I'd like to do, is share with all of you, through this vlog, some things that God has been showing me from His Word in regards to these verses tonight, and I pray will challenge you to not only not be afraid to be God's bright light in this darkness, but to be His flavor to a lost and dying world. As I close this post with all of you tonight, I want to leave you with this final question from this morning's devotional, and I pray that it challenges you to not be afraid to be God salt and light in this world.

What can prevent you from shining for him?

I pray that you will choose to be salt and light for God every day. To be the unusual flavor and scent in the midst of a world full of decay and dullness. In short, dare to be different, and uncommon for God, so that Christ Jesus is seen in you always! Don't be afraid to “leave your light on” for Christ because the more Christ Jesus shines through you, the more others will see Christ in you, and will want to know Him as their savior too.
