2018 Trump warned Germany. The EU laughed at him

President Donald Trump warned Germany they would be a “captive of Russia” because of their growing energy dependence to the Kremlin, and their laughter then has them looking foolish now.

Throughout 2018, Trump repeated his stance that NATO allied countries increasing dependence on Russian energy exports would put them in danger of someday being hostage to Russia. This was especially true of Germany.
