95th Comrades Marathon

The 2022 Comrades Ultra Marathon took place on Sunday 28th August 2022. Comrades first took place in 1921 and alternates the direction each year between Pietermaritzburg and Durban. In 2022 the Comrades Marathon returned with a 'Down Run' (90km) starting from Pietermaritzburg. Tete Dijana arrived first at the Moses Mabhida Stadium to claim the men's 2022 Comrades Marathon title with a time of in 5 hours, 30 minutes. Russian runner Alexandra Morozova crossed the line to take the women’s 2022 Comrades Marathon title with a time of six hours and 17 minutes. This was Morozova’s second victory this week after she beat a ban to compete in the race just the day before.
