Stealing Money From Scientology Critics | Tom Padgett Deposition

For years Tom Padgett has claimed that Scientology was somehow involved in his acrimonious court case. In fact, his divorce and child support cases were begun and vastly protracted solely by his own behavior.

For years (until the week of Aug 11, 2003) he solicited money from Scientology critics on his website -- money which could better go to true victims of Scientology harassment.

Beginning in 1992 and continuing to this day, Tom Padgett has been involved in a protracted and bitter divorce, child custody, child support and related case. His explanation for this bizarre series of events is that Scientology was involved, because Scientology is known for abrasive litigation against many people. It's true that Scientology litigates in a very nasty manner, but it's false that they had anything to do with Tom Padgett's divorce and child support cases.

The fact is that Tom Padgett's behavior was responsible for initiating the case, protracting it -- and eventually landing him in jail.

Padgett hadn't been living with his wife and kids for a year before the divorce was filed -- he was in Michigan while his family was in Kentucky.

While visiting from Kentucky, Padgett's wife Laura found notes between Tom Padgett and his lover in Michigan, proving he was having an affair.

Weeks after his wife filed for divorce in July 1992 in Madisonville, Kentucky, Tom Padgett filed for divorce in Lexington. This is merely the first of many actions by him that needlessly complicated and extended the case.

Using court documents from Madisonville, Kentucky and using Padgett's own words, this site will establish how he has misrepresented his case, disparaged his wife, engaged in abrasive litigation, withheld money from his children, and outright lied about his history in order to gain support and money from critics of Scientology.

The cases are indeed bizarre: And it's all Tom Padgett's doing.

Even worse, his children suffered when he was so dilatory with his support payments that he eventually pled guilty to flagrant non-support -- a felony in Kentucky and the very definition of a deadbeat dad.
