NEW Tarantula Species Discovered By Youtuber!

A YouTuber in Thailand has discovered a NEW species of tarantula! JoCho Sippawat makes videos about the wildlife he finds in his country and was recently exploring the forest near his home in northwest Thailand. He noticed a tarantula living inside of a bamboo stalk and took some photos which he then sent to an arachnologist at Khon Kaen University. Intrigued, the arachnologist went to the site himself to investigate and determined this tarantula is not just a new species, but is in a new genus as well since this spider is uniquely associated with bamboo and has not been observed living in any other plant. They named the tarantula Taksinus bambus in honor of the Thai king Taskin the Great and since this species can only be found in the high hill forests of northern Thailand it has been dubbed the rarest Thai tarantula!
