Environment Minister Caught Lying about Testing on Sask Farmlands

Steven Guilbeault, Federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change called the allegations "misinformed rhetoric".

But now Health Canada has admitted to a new monitoring program across Canada. Environment and Climate Change Canada has been testing water for pesticides on behalf of Health Canada.

According to The Western Standard, Tammy Jarbeau, Health Canada senior Media Relations advisor stated:

“Over the summer, Health Canada has been engaging with partners and stakeholders, to develop better pesticide monitoring in Canada,”

“As part of these activities, Health Canada partnered with Environment and Climate Change Canada and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada to collect water samples at various locations across Canada.”

Jeremy Cockrill, Saskatchewan Minister for Water Security Agency had brought this to Guilbeault's attention after a farmer noticed the testing and was told that the agent was "checking for pesticides".

Dana Skoropad, Saskatchewan Minister of Environment is now asking for an apology from Steven Guilbeault, Federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change.
