Texas to Chicago (Almost) | De-ice Failure and Diversion

After departing Gladewater, TX, we encounter moderate ice as we reach our cruise altitude and discover that the de-ice boots aren’t working. Although we’re in the clear, more ice is expected during the descent into O’Hare so we make an unscheduled trip to Olathe to see Kevin Mead and have the boots checked out.
