F1 racing chassis is "sandwich" structure
3 years ago
2
The chassis of the F1 racing car is a "sandwich" structure: the middle is a honeycomb aluminum plate, and the two outer layers are carbon fiber. The two outer layers are composed of many layers of carbon fiber, which are tightly pressed together (high temperature and pressure treatment makes the flexible structure very rigid). The carbon fiber is infused with epoxy resin prior to molding and ensures that the resin is evenly distributed to ensure consistent composition and material properties after curing. The three-layer structure is tightly attached to form a whole with extremely high density.
