DOJ Shuts down MASSIVE $20 Million Content ID Fraud Scheme MediaMuv. For the first time in YouTube history, the US department of justice has stepped in and shut down a massive YouTube Content ID scam operating as MediaMuv which had attracted significant online attention.

A company known as MediaMuv based in Florida & Arizona had been adding fraudulent content ID references for prominent artists in the Latin America region for profit. Recently the department of justice has gotten involved in this fraud scheme, where music artists were not paid anything for their work.

A simple search of #mediamuv on twitter reveals numerous complaints of dissatisfied creators having false claims. YouTube should add a simple option when disputing a content ID claim to report a claim you believe was made in bad faith.
