Why are you afraid? (Matthew 17:1-13)

The Transfiguration has always been an interesting spot for me; a lot of questions about Elijah and shrines, questions of seeing YESHUA (Jesus) appear with the kind of brilliance, though not the same, as seen with Ezekiel. I mean, there is a lot going on here.
In a place where they -John, James, Peter- (I prefer saying the Hebrew version of their names but will continue to use both) were invited to see much beauty and experience The Father's love to The Son and not all of it was experienced that could have been because terror overtook them. How often does the same thing happen to HIS people? That we will let a moment of fear stop us from seeing something good. How often will we be walking on metaphorical water and fall into the water when we hit something? How beautiful is it though that HE reaches in and pulls us out when we cry out "Save me!" After reassuring them they returned down the mountain and in a moment an idea of spirit verses letter is seen, the letter says Elijah has to come, spirit says he did and in missing him they abuse, echoed again, in missing the messiah, they fulfill what was spoken, and do the same to JESUS; knowing their hearts and nature and working inside the brokenness to save us all from it. Setting the captive free by dying in our place. The path made clear, the invitation to take it, The WAY made clear, the invitation to Drink. Isaiah 55, Matthew 11:25-30
