Russians in a difficult position in Kharkiv: Ukrainians take Vebrifka & enter Balaklia

The Ukrainian counterattack on Kharkiv has begun, with the Russians caught by surprise and losing ground. Ukrainian forces broke through the first line of Russian defense and managed to recapture the Vebrifka area on the outskirts of Balakliya.

The situation is critical in the area. The Ukrainians are trying to recapture the Chuguev-Izyum and Balakleya-Barvenkovo ​​axes by trapping and cutting off the Russian forces.
Balakleya was not chosen by chance, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine considered this sector of the front to be the least well defended, because it is defended mainly by reservists of the Donetsk-Lugansk forces and Russian volunteers.
In the southern region of Kharkiv, Ukrainian units are actively shelling Izyum and Balakleya. As mentioned, positional battles are taking place near Velyka Komyshuvakha.
