Body of missing jogger Eliza Fletcher is identified in Tennessee

A body found during the investigation into the disappearance of Eliza Fletcher, a 34-year-old woman abducted during a run Friday morning, has been confirmed as that of the missing jogger, authorities said Tuesday. NBC News reports.

The Memphis Police Department confirmed on Twitter Sept. 6 that the body discovered in Memphis on Sept. 5 belongs to Fletcher, who was kidnapped last week while on a jog. A cause and manner of death have not been released. Yahoo News reported.

New Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy offered his condolences for the family. He said he’s seen no evidence that the tragedy was anything other than an isolated attack. NEWS3 reported.
