As with The Winds of War, Herman Wouk's 1978 follow-up book, was made into an amazing miniseries. This spans the time frame from December 7, 1941 to the end of the Pacific War. Wouk, who served with distinction in the Pacific Theatre, lived to be 104 years old. He passed in May 2019.
