Inflation is hitting working class Americans hard. America is experiencing the worst inflation since the Carter stagflation years of late 1970s and early 1980s. The colloquial definition of inflation, "too much money chasing too few goods," is too simplistic. It doesn't capture what inflation really is---the loss of currency value, its causes, and its downstream effects. If left unchecked, inflation can wreak havoc on our way of life, our freedoms, and our society.

Since the early 1970s, the shift away from the gold standard, and the fiat monetary policies of the Federal Reserve, have played major roles in the loss of the value of the dollar. The Biden administration's policies, reckless spending, and its embrace of Modern Monetary Theory have exacerbated inflation.
