James Martin which attempts to pit what the author calls "texts of welcome" (found in the Gospels) against "texts of rigor" (those which categorically condemn unnatural vice); (4) an announcement from a Dutch diocese that Sunday Mass will soon only be offered in parishes every other week due to a shortage of priests; (5) Pope Francis' upcoming trip to Kazakhstan for the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions; and (6) the rapid increase of Evangelical (Protestant) Christians in Brazil, home of the world's largest nominally Catholic population.
