🔴 Under The Shadow Of The War In Ukraine - Estonian Defence Forces Train For Worst Case Scenario

Under the shadow of the raging war in Ukraine Estonian Defense Forces recently showed off their skills against a simulated invading force during Allied Exercise Siil 22.

Meaning “Hedgehog” in Estonian, Siil aims to activates Estonia’s wide network of reserve, volunteer and conscript forces, and tasks them with responding to a breach of sovereignty.

In this exercise British and Danish troops simulated an opposing force to give the Estonian troops a chance to test themselves against a modern, highly manoeuvrable foe.

The exercise takes place every three to four years and according to the Estonian Ministry of Defence, the 2022 iteration is one of the largest held since Estonia regained its independence in 1991.

In this video the Estonian Defense League near Voru, Estonia, conducted a raid on a compound with assistance from U.S. Marines from the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).
