Lay Me Down

I wrote this song in 1990, during a time I was going through a life-threatening challenge. I had to wait 3 months for an operation on my throat. The risks involved in the operation were huge, as it threatened my very voice. I had a multinodular cystic growth on my thyroid gland and they were not able to tell until they got in there to see how the y could remove it. The entire glad had to me removed. As I was admitted into the hospital that day, I played a little recording I had made of this song on my home piano with me singing in the air, (no mic) and played it over and over. God's spirit comforted me in an incredible way. I came out of the operation with my voice! The gland had no cancer, but now is forever removed. I dedicated me voice to GOD after that day. I also played this song during my father's memorial service and I can tell you that it was literally and out of body experience. I felt that I was floating and literally being used as a vessel to accomplish the relay the song during one of the hardest events of my life in losing my Dad who I dearly loved. I finally had the chance to record this song in my home studio in 2007. A friend and recording mentor of mine who wishes not to be names helped with the drum tracks and mixing. I have finally felt led to release this song on my channel as an added bonus to the Psalms audio readings I have been doing. I hope you will be blessed and uplifted by "Lay Me Down."
