Springfield Armory Model 1871 Rolling Block Rifle

In this video we’ll take a look at a fairly rare United States military rifle. This is the Springfield Model 1871. It is a rolling block rifle built at the government armory under a royalty agreement with Remington Arms.

The Model 1871 has a unique safety feature that is not found on Remington Rolling block rifles.
