UN Chief Appeals to World for Help in Flood-ravaged 🇵🇰

Antonio Guterres expressed his solidarity with Pakistan upon his arrival Friday, as he observed for himself the devastation caused by months of deadly floods that have left millions displaced.

His trip comes less than a fortnight after Guterres appealed for $160mn emergency funding to provide reprieve to those affected. Over 60 planeloads of aid have already been sent by 🇺🇳 agencies and other countries.

Guterres, who will address the press with 🇵🇰 PM Shahbaz Sharif after being briefed, had earlier issued a stern warning about climate change. “Today, it’s Pakistan. Tomorrow, it could be your country,” he said.
