Never use pressure treated wood to make biochar. Only use real wood, it can be heat treated pallets or wood scraps.
Do not use lighter fluid to start your fire. this is how to make biochar, allow the wood to burn but stop the process before it turns completely to ash. Once the cooking process is stopped with water or by smothering the fire. The charred wood can be crushed then add it to worm tea or added to a compost pile. This is because you need to inoculate the biochar (charge it with bacteria). If you don't charge the biochar first it will steal nutrients from the soil until biochar is charged with bacteria and nutrients.
