In a new filing this week, Justice Department lawyers criticized Judge Aileen Cannon's decision to allow a Special Master to review documents recovered from Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort as a threat to national security. The announcement that DOJ officials are appealing Cannon's decision is the latest legal snafu for Trump and his associates. MAGA supporter Steve Bannon was arrested on multiple charges this week, and a federal grand jury was convened to investigate the finances of a Trump super PAC formed after the 2020 election.
