“Abraham, Man of Faith and Faithlessness, Like Us.” from Genesis 12.

It is hard to accept for some that God sends trials into our lives to purify us and conform us to the image of Jesus, but he does, because he loves us. The famine that Abram experienced in Canaan was just such a teaching trial. Will Abram trust God to fulfill his promise in Canaan or will he travel to Egypt and ask his wife to commit adultery? There is much to learn from Abram's lack of faith.
