Atty. Frank DiFranco: 2020 IL. Local Election Discrepancies, New Paradigms w/Sargis Sangari EP #115

In December 2020, Park Ridge Atty. Frank R. DiFranco sued #Yarbrough, the Cook County #BoardofElections, the Illinois State Board of Elections, and Patricia Fallon, the winner in the race for the contested judgeship of the 12th Subcircuit Judge of the Cook County Circuit court in Illinois.

DiFranco alleged Yarbrough didn't stop counting votes until November 22 instead of November 17. Other allegations included altered postmarks on mail-in ballots, accepting #absenteeballots in person after the deadline, keeping #electionjudges from detecting duplicate votes, and allowing regular ballots when provisionals were required allowing Fallon to win by 502 votes.

The Cook County Circuit Court's 12th Judicial Subcircuit covers much of the northwest suburbs in Illinois, including #MaineTownship, Elk Grove, and #WheelingTownships.

There are federal and state lawsuits being #litigated. The first is in the Illinois #AppellateCourt, and the Federal Court Case has stayed in the U.S. #DistrictCourt for the Northern District of Illinois until the Illinois #AppealsCourt rules on the case, which is more likely to award DiFranco a victory.

This #lawsuit is the first time in the history of Illinois local elections where an election case has made it through the courts at this level with some limited discovery allowed.
