Mandate Questions Silenced | Meet the Local Candidates 2022

We attended the Lions Club of Ohope Beach 'Meet the Local Council Candidates' event on the 28th August, 2022.
A question was asked of the mayoral candidates whether they would support mandates for local facilities, if the choice arose again.
Only one candidate (Judy Turner) was allowed to answer, and when this was raised by another member of the public, conversation on the issue was shut down by the speaker.
This was quite shocking, considering councils themselves decided whether facilities would be unavailable to the unvaccinated.
They say we should be well informed before we vote - yet these questions were not allowed to be answered.
