According to the channel, Putin was heading to his official residence on an unspecified date in a decoy motorcade amid intense fears for his safety.
The car was driven to safety, with Vladimir Putin emerging safe and sound. However, his security service made several arrests - while some of the bodyguards disappeared - amid claims that classified information about the 69-year-old president's movements was compromised, the General SVR Telegram channel claims.
