When I was a kid there was this very old man who lived down the road from my grandparents named Kris. Now Kris was from the old country, I mean the Empire of Germany, served in WW1 and had some of the most interesting stories. One story I always found facinating was why his family made German Sausages for almost every gathering. He carried this tradition to his new homeland of America and I was fortunate enough for him to show me how they went about making their meals for a gathering.
