Gesslerburg is the name of the medieval castle in Küssnacht. Like the Hohle Gasse in Immense, it is associated with the legend of William Tell. According to the historian Aegidius Tschudi, it was the seat of the bailiff Hermann Gessler. The ruins of the Gesslerburg have been in the possession of the Swiss Confederation since 1908.
