It’s the new trend that emerged in July 2022, which doesn’t actually involve quitting your job, but rather, quitting the hustle-culture mentality that comes with it. Quiet quitters deny that their life success is measured by their success at work, they refuse to continue being exploited, doing more than what they signed up for, and getting nothing in return.

Before ‘Quiet Quitting’ we’ve seen the ‘Great Resignation’ trend, with millions of people resigning in masses since early 2021, as well as the ‘Lying Flat’ movement in China, being a rejection of societal pressures to overwork and supporting a lifestyle with lower expectations and less material things.

Since the 18th century people were striking for better working conditions. Today people are striking for better quality of life!
