⚠️Warning Distressing⚠️ 230 Whales Beached In Australia - Half Still Alive

21.09.22 - Tasmanian officials have dispatched rescue teams after around 230 pilot whales were beached on the island’s west coast Wednesday, while about half may still be alive.

Marine biologists believe they were hunting for new food sources due to changing water conditions. A few days ago 14 sperm whales were also beached on an island off Tasmania’s southeastern coast.

Two years ago Tasmania experienced the largest mass-stranding in Australia’s history when 470 long-finned pilot whales were beached, with only 111 saved after a week-long rescue attempt. #RT
