Webinar | Unrestricted Warfare: The CCP’s Not-so-secret Weapon: ‘Elite Capture’

Historically, the practice of guanxi, or “connections,” has been a key instrument of Chinese campaigns to compromise, suborn and otherwise bend to its will those China’s rulers seek to subdue and control. In recent years, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has developed guanxi to an art form, weaponizing it to undermine and control American culture, media, business and government elites as part of Beijing’s “Unrestricted Warfare” aimed at destroying the United States.

This CPDC webinar explores: the priority the CCP assigns to “elite capture”; the comprehensiveness and success of such initiatives to compromise those it targets; the extent to which captured elites actually do the Party’s bidding; and, insofar as they do, the implications for U.S. national security and other vital interests.
