Val Lewton's BEDLAM 1946 - Directed by Mark Robson & starring Boris Karloff. Nell Bowen, niece of Sir Lord Mortimer, wants to change the conditions of London's notorious Bethlehem Asylum, nicknamed Bedlam. Though she tries to reform Bedlam, the politically adept & cruel Master Sims who runs the place has her committed there. She becomes friendly with the asylum residents & they concoct a plan to help her.
