The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages Playthrough (Game Boy Player Capture) - Part 1
This is part 1 of my capture of me playing through The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages for the Game Boy Color. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my GameCube using my Game Boy Player with progressive scan mode enabled (you'll need the GameCube's component cables to use progressive scan mode and your model of GameCube must feature component output as well). I'm playing through a linked version of Oracle of Ages using a password obtained from a completed Oracle of Seasons save file.
Following up on my recent playthrough of Oracle of Seasons, here's Oracle of Ages. Since I'm playing this game after completing Oracle of Seasons, I'll be able to access the true ending for the two games and obtain various items and upgrades such as the Master Sword.
I originally purchased Oracle of Ages around its release date in 2001 and completed the game shortly thereafter. However, I only got around to purchasing Oracle of Seasons several years later, perhaps around 2009. I then completed both games using the game-link feature and obtained the true ending. This will be the second time that I've done this.
I'm not a huge fan of Oracle of Ages because it's much more puzzle focused than Oracle of Seasons. I also hate the stupid Tokay Island trading sequence where you have to re-acquire your items from the dumb little creatures. I don't like it when Zelda games take your items away and then force you to get them back (Skyward Sword made the same dumb mistake). Overall, Oracle of Seasons is the better title, but this game is still arguably better than the DS Zelda games.
As usual, I'll be collecting all of the Heart Pieces in this game and keeping track of them in each video.
In this first part I started a new save file using my password from Oracle of Seasons, transferred my rings and obtained a seed satchel.
Heart Pieces collected in this video:
Heart Piece # 1 - Black Tower - 26:05
Heart Piece # 2 - Maku Road (Past) - 29:24
Recorded with the Hauppauge HD PVR and the GameCube's component cables at 60 frames per second. I'm using an original model Game Boy Advance as a controller by way of the Game Boy Advance/GameCube Link Cable.
