This is what me and a few other dungeon masters do for giving out magic items. When a DM had me earn my item on a small quest I felt really good. I know random tables are great but a lot of times I never use any of that stuff because its not for my character. When I got to pick from a list of things it helped out my party and my self. I Just think this is a better way of doing things but your always free to run your table as you want.
