Geran-2 and Lancet-3 drone strikes on Ochakov: details

On 26 September, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a strike on the positions of the 66th artillery division of the 406th AFU brigade near Ochakov. Iranian-made kamikaze drones Geran-2 (Shahed 136) destroyed Hyacinth-B and D-20 guns, as well as Italian FH70 howitzers.

As a result of the drone strike, not only the long-range howitzers themselves (about ten pieces of equipment), but also 2,000 shells for them were destroyed, which will seriously affect the combat effectiveness of the AFU artillery near Mykolaiv and Kherson.

The Geran-2 drones also hit the barracks of a technical support company, which had returned from training in the UK a month earlier.

According to the Military Chronicle, the Geran-2 drones were used in conjunction with the Russian Lancet-3 strike drones this time. The Russian drones hit the air defence control post, the headquarters of the security company and a fuel depot.

A total of about 20 Geran-2 drones and an equal number of Lancet-3 drones were fired.

The massive strike came a few days after the successful use of Geran-2 drones on the headquarters of Operational Command South in the port of Odessa.
