This is more of my cultural and sociological analysis of Belarus, contrasting it to Australia.
Although there is quite a bit of social etiquette here in Belarus, people experience a lot of freedom from judgement with other things in their lives.
It seems like the important things are socially monitored but the unimportant things like expressing yourself are not.
Whereas in Australia, it is kinda the opposite with our "tall poppy" syndrome.
