Social Media Is USING & MANIPULATING You | The Chad Prather Show

The social media platform Snapchat, like other social media platforms, lets advertisers customize who sees their ads. Two companies in particular gather and provide data on Snapchat, TargetSmart and i360. TargetSmart, the left-leaning group, and i360, the right-leaning group, normally aren’t allowed access to each other’s data sets. Unfortunately, a little “slip up” at Snapchat gave TargetSmart access to i360’s customer information. Who would benefit from access to that information? Oh, just the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and Democrat Stacey Abrams’ gubernatorial campaign. Now, Snapchat admitted the mistake and fixed it, but that’s too little too late. The important part of this tale is that these social media companies are using and manipulating you for the whims of whoever pays their fees. They don’t view you as a person, just as another product that they can monetize and sell.
