BEING “THE FRAGRANCE OF CHRIST”

2 Corinthians 2:14-16 King James Version
14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

I really love this particular passage scripture, because it not just simply shares a precious moment in Jesus' ministry regarding Mary of Bethany, but it shows humility. It shows a sense of worship, reverence, and awe that Mary presented to Jesus, that was so powerful, that we're talking about it now. I was also very challenged and still am, by the questions from this morning's devotional, because come and I'm sure you would agree with me, I struggle sometimes to be the fragrance of my savior, and I often feel like “I'm not doing it right” in that moment, but then many years later, God shows me that I was. What I'd like to do right now, is share these questions with you tonight, and hopes that they challenge you, and encourage you to be the aroma of life that would let others know you represent Jesus. Check these questions out and see what I mean.

How can you be “the fragrance of Christ” to someone today?

I'd like to share some thoughts that God has put on my heart not just about this passage of scripture, but also on what it means to be the fragrance of Jesus, through this vlog tonight. It's something I pray that challenges you, as well as motivates you to be the fragrance for Jesus, and that your life causes others to sense God's presence in you, and that they want to know Jesus too. As I close this post for tonight, I want to leave you with this final question, and I pray that it challenges you to be that fragrant ambassador for Christ.

How has your life caused others to sense the presence of the Savior?

I pray that your life is one in which you are sharing, make that you are pouring out every day a godly, lifegiving fragrance that comes from God to others, so that they see Christ Jesus in you, and if they don't know Him as savior, that they want to know Him! I pray that your life has lived in such a way where people will sense the presence of the savior in you, that you produce a scent of Jesus like no other, that will not only remind them of their need for Him, but that they will come to know Christ through you! Be that fragrance of Christ today!
