Phelim McAleer - Producer: 'My Son Hunter'

'My Son Hunter' is a story that had to be told and our guest this episode was part of this process, Phelim McAleer, along with his wife Ann McElhinney, were the producers for this movie that introduces the debauched world of Hunter Biden to the public.
Hearts of Oak have had the privilege of speaking with Garrett Zeigler whose organisation, Marco Polo, has been at the centre of exposing Hunter and his 'Laptop from Hell', and now all that hard work has made it to the big screen.
Phelim has never shied away from the big controversial topics, as a journalist he simply follows the clues.
He exposed the lies about fracking in his film 'FrackNation' and corrected climate change myths with 'Not Evil Just Wrong'.
But with this film he is risking the ire of the most powerful man in the world, former vice president Joe Biden.

Phelim McAleer is an award-winning journalist, filmmaker, public speaker, and podcaster.
He is a New York Times best-selling author, a playwright and the creator of the verbatim podcasting genre.
Phelim, with his wife Ann, are the producers of “My Son Hunter” as well as several other films, plays, and podcasts including FBI Lovebirds: Undercovers, FrackNation, The Ann & Phelim Scoop Podcast, The Harvey Weinstein Trial: Unfiltered Podcast, Mine Your Own Business, and Not Evil Just Wrong.
Phelim has produced documentaries for the BBC, CBC (Canada) and RTE (Ireland), as well as two independent feature length documentaries.
Before becoming a filmmaker, Phelim was a foreign correspondent for the Financial Times in Eastern Europe, he covered Romania and Bulgaria for The Economist and has covered Ireland for the UK Sunday Times.
He began his career in journalism covering the Northern Ireland troubles first as a reporter in Crossmaglen (known as Bandit Country) and then for The Irish News in Belfast.
