CHEAP LED climbing wall with raspberry pi

What if there was a cheaper way to do the LEDs for the moonboard? Or any home climbing wall setup? Using a RASPBERRY PI setup can likely cut the cost by 80% or more.

WARNING: much of this video is three climbing buddies having a session using the RASPBERRY PI setup synced to the Moonboard app. We try a bunch of 2017 Moonboard problems except all the holds are different, just the LEDs are in the same places.
