FERTILIZER AND SEED | WHAT WE USE FOR OUR LAWN CARE CUSTOMERS

Wondering what products to use for fertilizer and overseeding? In this video we go over the best products available for lawn care companies, especially in the Denver, CO area. The price of seed has skyrocketed over the past 18 months, it definitely isn't cheap! I spent about $2000 when all is said and done. Not a bad investment if you can turn that into over $12K in revenue, right!? Make sure you talk to your local supplier of fertilizer AND seed to get the best products in your area. What I love about Richlawn, it is a Colorado company, and it is made for Colorado lawns! I started using Richlawn this year, so I am really interested in how things turn out with the lawns I service.

I have had great success with Lesco brand seed from SiteOne. Of all the seeding jobs I have done, from regular lawn seeding to overseeding, it has been a great product with great results. Sitting at $226/50lb bag, it isn't cheap. But the quality, germination rates and overall look when it's done is worth the extra cost. Yes, you can find seed at your local home improvement store. You just need to be careful about the kind of seeds that may be mixed in, like weed seeds. I used a product from The Home Depot for some spot seeding and the kind of grass that grew did a good job, but it looks so out of place as I know it is a different type and/or variety and it really sticks out on this lawn.
