Legitimate or illegitimate Authority - When to Obey or Resist - Part 2

The questions of what legitimate or illegitimate authority is and when should we obey or resist has been wrestled with since the dawn of human history. Our very own founding fathers wrestled with these questions when trying to decide whether or not God would bless rebellion against a tyrant like King George II. Fortunately, they made the right decision and signed the Declaration of Independence. Unfortunately, the people of Hitler’s time answered these questions wrongly and 6 million Jews were murdered and the world was plunged into a bloody world war. Let’s look at God’s Word to find out how we should answer these questions.
