The American Express Platinum card costs $695 a year and does have some outstanding perks and benefits

BUT, there is a major flaw with this card

The Platinum card earns 5X MR points on flights and prepaid hotels booked through the amex travel portal

But…. Just 1X on everything else

Earning 1X on spend in never worth it because there are so many cards that earn more and make more sense to use (show BBP like this one… show Gold (or this one)

The problem with the platinum card is that it as amazing as it looks and feels, you really shouldn’t use it for your day to day purchases
