Expanded pokemon sets is a set review series meant to cover pokemon sets that are only part of the expanded format. Since I wasn't making pokemon tcg videos during the time when they were new I'll be looking at them as part of the expanded format today but I'll also talk about thier significance in the meta during the time they were fresh.

Next Destinies was definitely when the game shifted to the direction of giant dinosaur basic pokemon and never looked back again. The set bought back EX pokemon, a concept originally introduced in the third generation however with some changes for an inferior experience. Mewtwo EX was the strongest card from this set that defined that period and with these pokemon out and about, regular stage 1 and stage 2 pokemon would never shine again like they did before.
