Boeing Doubts 737 MAX 10 FAA Approval Before Next Summer
Boeing reportedly faces a race against time to meet its December deadline for FAA approval for the new 737 MAX 10 aircraft, according to a letter sent by the regulator’s administrator Billy Nolan to the Senate Commerce Committee’s top Republican Roger Wicker.
If Congress doesn’t approve an extension for Boeing to win approval for the MAX 10, the company would likely incur significant delays to delivering models as new cockpit alert requirements would need to be incorporated into the design after two 737 crashes killed 346 people.
The FAA already expressed concerns to Boeing in a letter made public last week that they wouldn’t win certification for the MAX 7, upon which approval for the MAX 10 - for which Delta Airlines and WestJet Group have already booked major orders - depends. (RT)
