ה-1 באוקטובר הוא חג לאומי בסין המציין את היום שבו המפלגה הקומוניסטית הסינית הפכה רשמית את סין למדינה סוציאליסטית.
ביום זה נערכו הפגנות נגד המשטר הסיני בערים שונות ברחבי העולם, בהן לקחו חלק יוצאי טיבט, וייטנאם, הונג קונג, הפיליפינים, טייוואן ועוד.
כתב NTD ג'ייסון בלייר מביא את הקולות משתי הפגנות שהתקיימו בקליפורניה.
